Northwestern Inducted into Bouchet Society
On April 7, Northwestern University was inducted as a new institutional chapter of the Bouchet Graduate Honor Society. This society is named for the first African American doctoral student in the United States, Edward Alexander Bouchet. The Society recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate.
Dwight A. McBride, Dean of The Graduate School, attended the ceremony, which was presided over by incoming Northwestern Provost, and current Dean of Yale College, Jonathan Holloway.
