Northwestern Toastmasters Club
The Northwestern Toastmasters Club meets weekly on Fridays from 4:45 to 6 pm in Ford ITW (Room 1-340) to practice public speaking in a collegial environment. Visit their website for more information or contact them with any questions. On April 21 they are holding a workshop which is conducted by Megan Miskiewicz.
Giving a speech can be fun (or scary), but what is its purpose? In this workshop we will explore the objectives behind public speaking in both academic or professional and personal contexts. Megan Miskiewicz engages in creative writing and stand-up comedy in addition to her research on marriage economics in the context of romantic comedy film of the 1930s and 40s. She teaches Public Speaking and Academic Professionalization for Northwestern Mini Courses and graduated from Northwestern’s Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program in 2016.
