The Graduate School (TGS) has created this page to support you with your goals by linking you to the resources found below. You’ll find work/life balance workshops, discussion groups, support groups and links to student/parent resources. TGS encourages you to take advantage of these resources and create a healthy work/life balance.
Work/Life Balance Workshops
Throughout the year, the Office of Work/Life Resources sponsors free workshops that address a variety of family concerns. These informal lunchtime workshops provide faculty, staff and their families with access to relevant work/life balance topics from experts in the field. Topics include:

Work/Life Discussion Groups
The Office of Work/Life Resources sponsors discussion groups that meet monthly during the lunch hour to explore topic areas. Participants come to listen and share strategies with other Northwestern colleagues on topics such as work/life balance and elder caregiving.
Women’s Center Support Groups
The Women’s Center offers confidential support groups centered on a variety of topics such as:
- Exploring sexuality
- Women in connection
- Surviving sexual assault
- New to motherhood
