2021 Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowships Deadline
The national deadline for the 2021 Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) competition cycle has been announced by the program director as Monday, April 5.
Our campus deadline is Wednesday, March 24 at 12:00 PM CST.
The DDRA provides opportunities to doctoral candidates to engage in full-time dissertation research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies. The program seeks to deepen research knowledge and increase the study of modern foreign languages, cultural engagement, and area studies not generally included in US curricula.
The DDRA application process is among the most demanding possible for graduate students, thus they need ample time. Please share this information with eligible graduate students and urge them to act quickly. (See attachment) Kindly highlight the upcoming Fulbright-Hays Informational Workshops (See attachment).
Note: There are several countries closed to Fulbright researchers. Unfortunately, this list does not accompany the first-round announcement and is not yet available 2021. Have students who intend to work in countries likely to carry a State Department flag? Urge them to contact me.
If you have additional questions, or your students seek additional information, please email Stephen Hill, Sr. Associate Director, Office of Fellowships at s-hill@northwestern.edu.
