Summer 2021 Virtual PhD Career Exploration Series
In partnership with the Center for Civic Engagement, Graduate Writing Place, Office of Fellowships, Searle Center for Advancing Teaching & Learning, and The Graduate School, Northwestern Career Advancement is facilitating an 8-part career exploration series this summer for PhD students and postdoctoral trainees via zoom. The first session kicks off on Wednesday, June 23 at 10:00 AM CDT.
Designed as a career development course, participants at the conclusion of the series will be able to articulate their values and goals with respect to their career, will have an understanding of career tools and resources available through Northwestern, and an understanding of best practices related to networking and applying to non-academic positions. While it is not required to attend all sessions, it is strongly recommended, as the series builds competencies throughout the summer. We will conclude the series with a networking event, providing attendees with an opportunity to connect with professionals across different industries. Attendees will have access to a canvas for resource sharing and working groups throughout the series.
