Office of Equity Student Advisory Board Applications Open
The Office of Equity is excited to invite all interested students to apply to join our Student Advisory Board. The Office of Equity works to prevent and remediate harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct in the Northwestern community, and is committed to integrating student voices into these efforts. We invite students with interest to join the Student Advisory Board (SAB). The purpose of the SAB is to provide a dedicated avenue for student perspective, feedback, and recommendations on the goals, policies, procedures, and services of the Office of Equity. Members serve on the SAB for the current academic year and may join again the following year. Members must commit to attending as many meetings as possible, and scheduling will seek to accommodate members as much as possible. Due to the nature of the topics that this group discusses, members must be able to maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate good ethical judgment.
Previous Student Advisory Board Cohort Accomplishments:
- Reviewed and gave feedback the new regulations by the US Department of Education on the new Title IX sexual harassment policies
- Offered guidance to OE concerning cultural understandings of sexual misconduct from NUQ
- Developed pronoun guide to make Northwestern more gender inclusive
- Provided feedback on responsible employee training to best support students with reporting responsibilities
To become a Student Advisory Board, please apply at this link by 5:00 PM CDT on Monday, September 27. If you have any questions, please reach out to SAB Advisors Shá Norman or Jason McKean.
