Apply for the 2023 Management Certificate for Scientists and Engineers (MSE) Program
Doctoral students enrolled in science, engineering, math, and quantitative social science programs are invited to a virtual information session for the Management for Scientists and Engineers Certificate Program on Thursday, February 16 from 4:00–5:00 PM CST on Zoom.
The Graduate School is partnering with Kellogg School of Management to offer a certificate program taught by Kellogg faculty that will equip promising post-candidacy doctoral students with the necessary business and leadership skills. The Management for Scientists and Engineers Certificate Program benefits doctoral students enrolled in science, engineering, math, and quantitative social science programs.
Doctoral students enrolled in science, engineering, math, and quantitative social science programs are invited to a virtual information session for the Management for Scientists and Engineers Certificate Program on Thursday, February 16 from 4:00–5:00 PM CST on Zoom. This info session will provide the opportunity to hear about the program from professors and former students and to ask any questions you may have.
This free summer program features coursework from the core Kellogg MBA curriculum and is designed to give post-candidacy STEM and quantitative social science PhD students at Northwestern University the opportunity to become better leaders and collaborators. Students will be introduced to business concepts and specific frameworks for effective management relevant to both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. They will also gain a basic understanding of strategy, finance, risk and uncertainty, marketing, accounting, and leadership.
Classes will be held for eight weeks on Tuesdays during the summer quarter from Tuesday, June 13 through Tuesday, August 1.
Applications for the 2023 MSE program will open on Monday, February 27. Interested students are invited to apply by 5:00 PM CST on Friday, March 31.
*Note: Principal investigator (PI)/adviser recommendations are due by Friday, April 10. Applications missing these recommendations will not be accepted. Please inform your advisers as early as possible so that they have time to prepare.
