Transcripts
While completing your online application, you will be required to submit one scanned copy of your transcript or academic record from each school you have attended. We do not require official hard or digital copies of your transcripts for the application process, and we strongly encourage applicants to not submit official versions of their transcripts with their application.
When uploading your transcripts, please be mindful of the following:
- Applicants with transcripts not in English must include an official English translation when submitting their application. Any foreign language transcripts must be translated by a neutral third party (your institution, a credential evaluation service, independent translator, etc). We recommend a certified translation from ATA, ECE or WES.
- Make sure your scanned transcripts are legible. Illegible transcripts will not be reviewed.
- Any fraudulent activity or discrepancies found between uploaded and official transcript(s) will result in the immediate revocation of admission and/or dismissal from Northwestern University.
- Students who are admitted and decide to enroll in their program will be required to have the issuing institution submit their final, official transcripts to The Graduate School prior to the start of their first term. Official transcripts must be submitted directly by the issuing institution and include a full list of courses and grades earned, degree-awarded, and date the degree was conferred. A degree certificate or diploma may be required in addition to your transcript, if the degree and conferral information is missing.
